In 1990, a series of History classes was organised by Gloucestershire College of Art & Technology, with Mr. Bryan Jerrard as Lecturer. The Ashleworth history Group was formed as a result of the interest shown. Its first activity was to help in 1992 with the 150th Anniversary celebrations of the founding of Ashleworth School by mounting an exhibition of village history. In 1994, an Exhibition of Art & History was well supported, and the Group decided to write and publish some of the history of Ashleworth.
