Birmingham In The Great War (1914-1919) 

This book chronicles the War effort in Birmingham during the First World War. 3 chapters (out of 18) record Birmingham's military contribution, but the main thrust of the book is concerned with Municipal activities – Mobilisation of Labour, Munitions manufacture, Care of the Wounded, Fund Raising, and so on. Contains about a dozen photographs. Excellent background material. Kindly loaned to the project by the Birmingham and Midland Institute.
