This detailed map gives very good coverage of the town of Newcastle under Lyme, with all of the town centre included, and coverage extending eastward to Basford, north to The Brampton, southward to Thistebury Villas and the Cemetery.

Features include St Giles church, the town centre in detail with individual buildings neatly delineated, Guildhall, St John's church, schools, Penkhull Street, cattle market, North Staffordshire Railway Pool Dam Branch, NSR line with Newcastle station, Enderley Mill, Brampton Mills, Castlehill Foundry (disused), Waterloo Works, isolation hospital, militia barracks, Kingsfield Pottery, Harpfield Tileries, tramway, St Mark's church Basford, part of Stoke Workhouse (at foot of map), Newcastle under Lyme Canal, chapels etc. On the reverse we include a list of private residents from a contemporary directory.
