The story of Bedlington is a long and interesting one. It covers many hundreds of years and warrants a book ten times the size of this one. The author certainly has enough verified material to produce such a tome, but in the spirit of this series of books, it is hoped that the enjoyment of easy reading will lead to a deeper interest in the history of our lovely town. The Ironworks and parish Church have been substantially dealt with in other books and have therefore only been touched upon here
