Warwickshire

J. Charles Cox

Published by Metheun and Co., London, 1914

First Edition. No ISBN

This small travel book was part of 'The Little Guides' series which did not attempt to be 'guides in the ordinary sense of the word', but sought to 'contain information which may be sufficient for the ordinary tourist of literary taste'.

It was small enough to pack in a pocket or purse; had many illustrations from photos by 'well-known artists' (!); and contained whatever was deemed interesting about the area - from natural aspects to architecture and history.

Hardcover red cloth with gilt top (10 x 15.5 cm). 187 pp. and 24 illustrations from photographs and six maps and plans. The rough-cut page edges are browned, with tanning and foxing to the inner pages but mostly to the outer ones near the covers. One foldout map has a tear and separation along a crease in the fold. Some minor inner cracking to the spine but otherwise solid and intact. Mild bumping to corners and wear to spine edges. No ink or pencil markings inside.
