Sir Reynolds was one of the leading painters in the eighteenth century, specialising in portraiture. He was hugely successful and became very well connected to the wealthy, the influential, and the learned people of his time, including the aristocracy and King George III, who knighted him in 1769. McIntyre's biography covers Reynold's life and the many, many lives that surrounded him throughout his lifetime. 

This first edition hardback (24 cm x 15.5 cm), 608 pp, is in Very Good condition and price-clipped. There is only minor wrinkling to the edges of the dust jacket.
