This is how it works..

1. From the options, select whether you want just an image or whether you want us to do some additional checks(maybe because there is more than one entry which might be yours, eg a check on the fathers name on a marriage certificate or baptism, etc), we charge an extra £1 per check.

2. Enter details of the entry(s) required..

• Type of event eg, Baptism, Marriage or Burial
• The name of the person
• Date/Year of the event(if you do not have the date, you can find transcripts for baptisms and marriages on the IGI(www.familysearch.org) and burial dates from the NBI(National Burial Index)
• Details of what you want checked(if appropriate).

3. We will then take a copy of the page required in PDF format and email it directly to your email address.

Further information..

The BMSGH ran a project a number of years ago to film the original Birmingham St. Martin's Parish Registers(Baptsims, Marriages and Burials), which are held by the City of Birmingham Archives at Birmingham Central Library.

We then produced a DVD with all the images including two indexes, a Main Surname index and an Other Surnames index(which is mainly witnesses to marriages). The DVD is available for sale at a cost of £75. It is also available as a collection of 10 CD's priced at £75. The CD's are also available to be purchased separately at £10 each(see related products).

Normally to get these images, you have to go to the local records office and take a print off a film reader(not always very good quality) and then scan into your PC. We have original images(not microfilmed) and will email images as PDF files which you can store directly on your PC.

From July 1837, Marriage records were recorded twice, one was sent to the local Register office and the other entered into the Parish Registers. If you order a copy of a Marriage certificate from the local Register office or the GRO it will cost £9.25. You can order a copy of the Parish Register Marriage entry here for £5 and it will be emailed to you, so no need to re-scan into your computer, no folded certificates and much quicker delivery.
