Palethorpes - Master Sausage Makers for 115yrs
Author John Dunn, worked for Palethorpe’s when they established their new factory in Market Drayton. He took a great deal of interest in his employer and their business success. Because of his enthusiasm he was asked to keep some of the company archive and the book was initiated to recorded how five generations of the Palethorpe’s family created a World renown sausage and pie manufacturing facility in the Midlands and also the family’s ethos in the care for workers on a daily basis and throughout two World Wars.
The book covers the period 1852 until 1968 with some additional images from the 70’s. The original black and white ‘glass’ photographic plates scanned digitally and reproduced in the book are from photographs taken by Captain Jack Palethorpe and his father Charles Henry who were keen photographers.
